EBPM

ELECTRON BEAM PARTIAL MODIFICATION (EBPM) is a process where the high density heat energy inherent in electron beams is emitted onto the surface of the metallic material, heating up a section of the material, and modifying that particular area.

The technology improves economy, so cheap materials can be modified as complex materials. The processing method will change according to the purpose of the

modification.

There are two methods: one melts the surface, while the other does not.

At present, the technology has not yet been applied, and is expected to become a technology of the future.

We are open to any proposals and recommendations.

EBM has many forms.

Many practical forms and methods have been developed for surface processing such as blistering, and nitrifying of Fe materials.

However, the technology regarding Al materials have not been developed to the same extent.

Aluminum is recently regaining popularity due to issues of

compact (smaller, thinner, shorter) as well as material recycling.

The problems with aluminum for application as a structural material is its softness and its lack of resistance to wear.

Therefore,SHINKUSEIKO has concentrated on perfecting this technology with a focus on processing aluminum.

ELECTRON BEAM WELDING

ELECTRON BEAM WELDING (EBW) process is done in an vacuum environment, eliminating the need for welding rods and groove welding.

EBPW can be used for any stainless steel, high strength steels, aluminum, titanium, and refractory metals, excluding those materials containing zinc or cadmium, while also being

able to weld different types of metals together, such as

welding copper to stainless steel.

EBPM is noted for producing welds with a high depth-to-width ratio, superior penetration control, and maintaining a high purity welding environment with the weld penetration ranging from approximately 20 microns to 50.8 mm.

The weld joint are contamination free, and

distortion is minimal due to the small heat-affected zone.

EBW would be selected for applications requiring minimized distortion, welding in a close proximity to heat sensitive components, reactive metal welding, and hermetic seal welding.

Welding of dissimilar metals.

Melting is instantaneous, so dissimilar metals with different melting points melt simultaneously.

The materials take away the heat, and hardening through rapid cooling occurs before segregation between the difference in density appears.

However, it is impossible to weld materials such as Al and SUS, where the solid state properties differ greatly.

Whatever you imagine!!

We always make an effort to meet your demand from design to manufacture.

Especially, We are proud of processing electrode and Heat Plate electrode. Please ask freely!
